The vast herd of antelope, zebra, and wildebeest had mostly left the Mara by November and is heading more quickly toward the Southern Serengeti, where the rains have started. From Lobo, animal columns can be observed extending to the eastern Serengeti and central Seronera regions.
November is a fantastic season to watch the animals in the Serengeti, despite the fact that it may be a little bit colder and rainy. The first grass roots are starting to emerge; therefore, they are travelling faster to get to the southern plains.
On an exhilarating horseback safari, take in the untamed scenery and rolling grasslands of the Serengeti or Masai Mara. Get up close and personal with the wildebeest migration. This is a genuinely amazing opportunity to enjoy breathtaking game viewing as you gallop alongside the herds or stroll among them as they graze. It is definitely recommended for the more daring (and experienced) horse rider. Throughout your safari, opulent mobile camps are arranged to provide comfort and relaxation during the evenings, allowing you to rejuvenate for the next day of riding.
Situated in a 7608-hectare private conservancy with sweeping vistas of the Mara plains, the highly acclaimed Cottar’s 1920s Safari Camp embodies the very spirit and essence of an African safari experience, all while maintaining the highest standards of luxury and elegance. Due to its unique location, it is directly in the path of the massive wildebeest migration, which takes place between June and November. You can experience this firsthand by going on walking safaris with top-notch rangers guiding you or by taking a professionally led 4×4 game drive.
Elewana’s Serengeti Migration Camp is an excellent location to see the show, as its name implies. Nestled in a secluded area amidst rocky cliffs, the camp features twenty opulent raised tents that perfectly complement their surroundings. August through November is when herds usually travel through the area, and throughout the years, the camp has come to represent high-action, low-impact game viewing in an absolutely pure setting.
From July through to November, Legendary Serengeti Mobile Camp is located in the northern Serengeti, following the herds of the great wildebeest migration. Traditional fold-away canvas safari tents and open-air sitting areas provide uninterrupted views over the savannah plains of the Serengeti, offering guests outstanding views. Game drives and guided walks take you close to the action, and in December, the camp packs up and heads south to catch the wonders of the calving season once again (December to April).
