Guide to the Great Wildebeest Migration in April

To reach the Western Corridor, follow the thunder.

With the long, intense rains that have arrived, April is a wet month. The herds have depleted the grasslands in the south, and they are making their sluggish but steady way towards the Serengeti’s Western Corridor. Enormous herds of wildebeest, zebra, and antelope can be observed migrating towards the Western Corridor from the south via the Moru Kopjes in the central Serengeti.

April is a fantastic month to follow the thunderous rumbles northward if you do not mind the heavy rains and possibly very slick roads. With young calves and newborns in tow and a variety of predators hiding in the shadows, they are still going slowly.

Safari Photographic Experiences

It should come as no surprise that most tourists visiting East Africa during the great wildebeest migration are avid photographers. Who would not want to record priceless moments from the “Greatest Wildlife Show on Earth” to cherish forever, after all? For aspiring photographers of all skill levels, specialised photographic safari trips offer an exceptional and fantastic opportunity to capture the spirit of the spectacular with their cameras. And these are not only daytime possibilities: at night, when there is almost no light pollution, the skies are alive with remarkable constellations that provide breathtaking photography opportunities.
