Is inside Mt Meru (4,562m/14,967ft), Tanzania’s second peak after Mt Kilimanjaro. The known hike is for four days. One day hiking to Meru Crater is not so difficult, and also very rewarding. Wildlife
The Momella lakes zone is the best for viewing buffalo, giraffe, debase waterbuck and Kirk’s dik-dik. There’s less mainstream wildlife in the forest of the park but keep your eyes open for bushbuck and a nice, but very fearful, Harvey’s red duiker. if you advantaged you will see elephants. The park’s freighter animal is the Kilimanjaro colubs, a type of monkey that only or else happens on Mt Kilimajaro and in two unknown forests in Kenya.
Scenery
The most important scenery in Arusha is Mt Meru, Ngurdoto Crater is another highlight not to be left out. With its forested barrier, the 400m-/1,300ft-deep dead volcano is usually detailed as a mini Ngorongoro. And no tour to the park is complete with out a drive around the Mozella lakes. flamingos always make a great photo. chances, and a backdrop of Mt Kilimanjaro completes the scene on a clear day.
ACTIVITIES
There are a lot of fun activities that are offered aside from walk safaris and game drives. Hiking Mt Meru is a perfect way to acclimatize for Mt Kilimanjaro. You may be able to enjoy it more. Tanzania’s second highest mountain merrily uncrowned and you’re expected to see some wildlife on the way. Various actives include guided mountain biking, canoeing in the the Mozella lakes and a scenic half day hike into Meru Crater.
WETHER & CLIMATE
Arusha National Park has an average day time temperatures ranged from 18oC/64oF to 23oC/73oF with a middle climate. June to October is refered to as the coldest time of the year and that is that is the dry season. There for if you are to do an early morning game drive, you will need a number of warm clothes. November to May this has two periods of rainfall the dry spill in between and that is the Wet season. It is mostly during these long rains (March to May) that might hamper your tour.
BEST TIME TO VISIT
Seeing wildlife is at its best in the dry season (June to October). Day in this time are always sunny , unfortunately it can be very cold early in the morning and in the late after noon. Generally birding is best in the Wet season(November to April).
