Akagera National Park Rwanda`s only savannah reserve, recent reintroductions of lions and rhinos, the Big Five are spotting. Plenty of plains and animals you`ll see, like giraffes, zebras, impalas and Topi. viewing wildlife in terms of unmixed, the most famous parks in Kenya and Tanzania that Akagera NP can`t. The particularly rewarding thing is birdlife in the park.
WILDLIFE in
Since Africa Parks took over management of Akagera in 2010, wildlife numbers have been on the increase. Buffalos and elephants are commonly viewed near the lakeshore. After the reintroductions of 2015, there are now more than 40 lions roaming the Savannah Plains. Leopards are common and harder to spot. These secretive big cats are most seen on night drives.
Scenery
Akagera is specifically scenic and offers a wide diversity of habitats in a small area. Visitors can drive along a string of forest-frigested lakes and wetlands fed by the Akagera River. Tall mountains from a lovely backdrop to the ever-changing vegetation, which includes papyrus swamps and acai woodland.
Activities
Game drives allow you to see a good section of Akagera’s wildlife. It’s possible to self-drive, assuming you have a study 4×4. Guided night drives increase the odds of encounting nocturnal creatures such as leopards, bush babies, and geese. Boat tips are excellent for hippos, crocodiles, and waterbirds. Weather and Climate
Akagera’s located near the equator and has in-line moderate to warm weather. Temperatures are extra uniform throughout the year. The average nighttime temperature is about 10 oC/25 oF below the average daytime temperature; therefore, warm clothing is recommended for early morning game drives. The main dry season (June to September), but there is a relatively dry spell from mid-December to mid-February too.
Best Time To Visit
Akagera vessel be visited at any time, the best wildlife-seeing months (June to September). This corresponds with the majordry season, when animals are drawn to the lakes as a source of water. At this time the bush is not a lush either, which makes spotting animals a bit easier. Mid-December to mid-February, a dry spell in the wet season, is also good to visit.
