A Comprehensive Schedule for the 6-Day Mount Kilimanjaro Trekking Safari via the Machame Route
Depending on where you are, our expert Tanzanian driving guide will pick you up on the first day of your 6-day Mount Kilimanjaro hiking safari via the Machame path and take you to Kilimanjaro National Park. You can explore the mountain team’s preparations while your guide registers; the mountain’s ascent is always amazing. Once this is all packed up, your adventure will start; after a few minutes, you will be deep within the forest with ancient trees, mosses, ferns, and black and white colobus monkeys climbing in the tree tops. After 5 to 6 hours, you will access Machame Camp, located just above the forest line at 3000 meters. Upon arrival, the porters have already set up your tents and warm water for washing will be ready.
After packing everything up, you will be deep in the forest with old trees, mosses, ferns, and black and white colobus monkeys perching in the tops of the trees, ready for your adventure to begin. It should only take a few minutes.
You will reach Machame Camp after five to six hours.
After breakfast, get up early to begin your day’s activities. You will follow a trail that steepens and becomes a moorland with shrubs similar to hardy Ericas. There will be ups and downs on day three of the 6-day Mount Kilimanjaro hiking safari via the Machame path. After reaching the massive “4640-meter” Lava Tower, you will drop once more after climbing for about 700 meters. You will be able to reach a height of more than 4500 meters, which will aid in acclimatization. On your hike, you will pass across various vegetation zones. Following arrival at Lava Tower, the route passes via Barranco Valley, which is filled with bizarre-looking situations., and you will reach the Shira Plateau campsite by mid-afternoon. You will climb for a further two to three hours after lunch to reach Barafu camp, which is located at 4640 meters. You will wake up this day in the wee hours of the morning with a hot cup of tea and some delectable nibbles. Your daypack will start in the dark, and you will be prepared with a headlight and warm clothing. You will reach Stella Point, the crater’s edge, after spending five to seven hours at the pole. After traveling at a leisurely pace for an additional two hours around the crater’s edge, you will reach Uhuru Peak, which is designated “5895M.” You will feel like the king or queen of the planet when you take in the early morning views of the surrounding terrain below. You are now able to access the “Roof of Africa.” The volcanic ash will have defrosted by then, and the descent should be simple, although dusty. Retracing your steps along the same path will take you in a few hours to Barafu Camp, where porters will be waiting with food and drink. Following a brief period of recuperation, you will descend to Mweka Camp (3080 meters), where you will spend the night.

As part of their departure ceremony, the staff presents their suggestions and, on your last day, after breakfast, they celebrate your achievement with a traditional song.
